Centurion

Promised a lot, but fell flat. This kind of pseudo-historical movie—think The 13th Warrior or Apocalypto—generally tends to be right up my alley. But a weak screenplay, dodgy direction, and a focus on pointlessly gratuitous violence ensured a poor end result.

Killing Floor

A very "pulpy" action novel by author, Lee Child, The Killing Floor does not really throw any surprises your way. The hero is a Jack Reacher and is an army man who now wanders aimlessly around the US thereby allowing the author to create an entire series around his persona. The classic masterless Samurai/Ronin cliché :)

Passable read.

Hodejegerne / Headhunters

Headhunters is a Norwegian thriller and as such has a lot of action, violence, a couple of nice twists, and some generous nudity. It's a fun watch and IMO, its best attribute in terms of its plot is that the baddie isn't aware of the second of two major threads that run concurrently throughout the movie. It's quite refreshing.

The direction is a bit dodgy in places as is the screenplay. But I recommend watching it if you enjoy the genre.

P.S. Bonus star for being Scandinavian.
