Today's Song of the Day is by the legendary German band Scorpions. While I am quite familiar with most of their tracks, I've not listened to many of their earlier albums in their entirety and going by the general popularity of tracks off their later albums, I was quite certain that I'd find some gems out there.
One such gem is "Your Light" off their 1978 LP Taken by Force. Credited to Uli Jon Roth, the song is simple but has such a groovy rhythm that you can't keep your body still while listening to it. Considering Uli Jon's obsession with Jimi Hendrix (his connection to Monika Danneman makes for interesting reading), it is unsurprising how "hendrixxy" the rhythm-work is.
The album incidentally was the last Scorpions album to feature Uli Jon.
I'm going to be on a Scorpions binge for a while :)
