A (probably unacknowledged) remake of A Walk to Remember starring that fell whore Mandy Moore (no offence to Mandy, but I couldn't help but rhyme), A Millionaire's First Love is pretty dire. Why I bothered to start watching it or subsequently sit through its entirety, I will never know. But I do know that I cringed on occasions greater than one and less than 500.

While the tale itself is pretty corny, the original (as these things go) at least had a modicum of charm aided by competent actors - one of them a professional singer - and a couple of memorable scenes. The remake shares none of these attributes. The acting is wooden, direction misguided and screenplay fatuous. The movie is not helped by the female lead, Lee Yeon-hee, who can neither sing and dances only slightly better than I do. The only silver lining to this waste of time is that some of the settings and backdrops are beautiful and captured well.

Avoid. Even if you can't.
