The latest version of Picasa (v3.9) is armed with Google Plus support. I suppose that this is fine even though Google Plus is inherently evil (albeit not as evil as Facebook). However, the application's camera support is lacking and Google has officially stopped supporting the product under Linux. They've also pulled many of the links and even download sites and archive sites are oddly only providing v3.9. However, Google's own servers continue to (knowingly or unknowingly) host to install file for the admirable robust v3.8. Here it is:

The new Google Analytics interface is quite nice if often annoying. One of the many issues I have been having with it is linking the Adsense account for one particular domain to its equivalent Analytics account. Most of the help documentation is for the previous version of the Analytics interface and the newer docs are not terribly helpful at all. The latter simply keeps asking me to go to the Admin tab and linking the Adsense account by clicking on it or something trivial like that.

Earlier today, I set up a gmail account for an elderly acquaintance of mine. Due to his really forgetful nature, once I created his account, I logged into it and mailed myself the username and password. As soon as I clicked "send" however, I found that I had been logged out of gmail. Trying to log back in proved futile as I was met with a "This account has been suspended" message!

Earlier today, when I forgot the term mind map and later when I forgot Spinoza's name, I wondered if this was something I was doing subconsciously or if a few more of my brain cells are dying away as I get older.

I came across Google's image labeller just now and quite enjoyed myself playing the internet version of charades with some other anonymous chap halfway across the world.

I wonder if the chap behind it got the idea from the ReCAPTCHA project. Neat stuff.
