My upgrade from Lucid to Precise did not go well and I've been battling errors ever since. I ran into the following error when trying to reinstall the php5-gd extension for PHP:
No apport report written because MaxReports is reached already
This was caused because, as the error message states plainly, the MaxReports number of reports had already been created by apport, a crash manager for Ubuntu. These files are generated and stored for later use in the
/var/crash directory. Going in there and deleting any
.crash files should be all that's needed to make this message go away.
I'm guessing that the number of MaxReports can be increased if necessary from a configuration file within
/etc/apports/. I haven't bother to test this out though ..
Hope this helps!
