Live TV? P2PTV? Peercasting? Streaming video? Lifecasting?

Anyone else notice the rising popularity of live video / TV sites and applications all over the place? In the last year or so, what was just a niche service / application has exploded into the mainstream and I won't be surprised if established sites such as YouTube also manoeuvre to get a piece of this pie.

Presently available offerings can be segregated into two categories:

Text to Speech (TTS) on the web

The following are a list of some really cool Text-to-speech (TTS) engines available (for testing) on the web:

    dmraid: Trials and tribulations

I have a Gigabyte board with an nForce 430 chipset that supports RAID. I was hoping to use it to create a simple RAID1 mirror using two hard drives to protect my previous MP3 collection. The system in question is an updated Kubuntu Gutsy box.

Before we start, this is the first time I am playing with RAID and the information below might very well be wrong. Please feel free to correct me :)

    Targetted image resizing

If this isn't way cool, I don't know what is.

    Minimum lengths of sub-domain names

There is no minumum character requirement on sub-domain names. Yet, a number of whois and domain registration sites impose a minimum character check (usually 3) in their scripts. Decidedly batty :/
